Still Life Paintings
Sometimes, the most beautiful things are without movement. Still life paintings capture objects in surroundings that complement the subject. Paintings of still life seem to capture deeper detail and once can't help noticing of the relationships between the objects. Though they don't move, they can appear very alive almost jumping from the canvas.
Modern still life paintings of fruit are a favourite subject of artists due to their rich colours, curved shapes, textured skin and natural imperfection. Not only are they beautiful things to look at but contemporary still life paintings are usually very accurate representations of real life. Sometimes still life art is like a diagram that describes an object but on so many different levels relevant to the vision of the painter. These levels of thought are expressed by the actual use of the paint onto the surface, a skill that can say more than a thousand words.
